I had several questions about the property beforehand - they were promptly and politely answered. The directions to the property were spot-on. All property information was well communicated.
This property was perfect for our family (8 adults, 5 grandchildren, 1 dog). There was ample sleeping room and plenty of living space, both indoors and outdoors. The kitchen was well equipped with utensils, cookware, and flatware. The huge dining table was much appreciated, as well as the beautiful patio furniture. We utilized the washer and dryer several times - it was great having extra space in our vehicles for hiking gear vs. clothes! Having onsite garbage cans was a HUGE hit, given the amount we generated. Fires on the rocky shoreline were unforgettable, as well as the shallow waters. There was plenty of parking for our multiple vehicles/families. The "game closet" was wonderful, as well as puzzles, movies and books. The location was perfect for us - near many hiking trails. There were really NO negatives to this property! Thank you for sharing!

I messed up onbooking and had to switch to a bigger rental. The staff was beyond helpful and the swap was very easy. Very much appreciated.
The views of Lake Superior were amazing. Great location for exploring the north shore. We hit the slopes of Lutsen one day and then went snow showing along superior the next.

Professional and great customer service.
Great property. Like how all the switches are labeled and other helpful instructions around the property. Great deck and like how close it is to Tofte.
Our son is in a wheelchair and we use a lift to get him in and out of the bed to get him in his wheelchair. Wish one of the beds on the first floor did not have drawers underneath. Was a bit of a challenge not being able to get the lift wheels under a bed.

We have had consistently good service from team members.
This house is in a great location, close to many things yet private. It has a beautiful deck and enclosed porch. Easy walk to the lakeshore.

They have always been wonderful, I have never had any issues over the years.
05-25-18 thru 05-28-18 Our family stayed at this gorgeous property for the Memorial Weekend. The main living space was big enough for all of us as well as the table that could seat 10+ around. The views from the front window were wonderful and the spacious deck was perfect for our puppies to run and play.
We built our own fire ring and had bonfires nightly. Plenty of rocks to climb and walk on at the Lake Superior shore. The location was perfect for our family since we like to hike on the nearby trails.

Super nice and knowledgeable. They helped book our last minute stay quick and efficiently and was able to find available rentals to look at.
The house was more beautiful and spacious in person. Love the view of Lake Superior in the backyard which was only a few feet away from the home. All the amenities were well stocked and had everything we needed for the stay. We didnt need to bring anything extra except for our toothbrush. They supply soap but, I prefer to use my own. We had 4 adults and 6 kids during the trip and the kids enjoyed being there even with no WiFi. It was nice to see them interact with each other and not sit on their electronics all day like they do at home. They also provided many game boards, etc. as well as DVDs and books to keep us entertained. The gas grill was also a plus but, we didnt use it because it was a little chilly the day we arrived. We had a 2 nights stay at Pointavu and wanted to stay the entire weekend but, we had to leave a day early because something in the home triggered my 2 year old sons allergies.. we drove 6 hrs back home that evening and had to bring him to the ER to treat his wheezing/breathing.

This is our 2nd time here, love the house! The 3 bedrooms and 3 baths fit our family perfectly. Wonderful view of the lake, with the short trail down to the rocks. Kitchen is well stocked, it had everything we needed to cook our meals.

everything was clearly layed out in the few email correspondences we had. my experience working with an actual human being felt absent. this is not a criticism. i felt well taken care of and communicated with, but nothing came up that required further interaction.
the location of Pointavu was incredible- close to conveniences like the general store and adventure rental/ supply store but tucked away enough in the trees to feel far away from the 'real world' once we got home. these things were the cherry on top of the real treat which, to me, was the ability to walk right out onto the shore from the (huge, amazing) deck. the open plan of the main room made for a perfect space for our group of nine to spread out but be together. the large dining table with views of the water and the kyakers going by was, again, perfect. we were provided everything necessary to have a wonderful trip- bountiful games and puzzles and reading material, plenty of places to sleep and blankets to cozy up under, tucked away bedrooms for the light sleepers, perfectly out-of-the-way modest televisions for a lazy movie night, an open kitchen so the cook could stay engaged, an excellent grill, that huge deck and sturdy furniture set(!), that ocean of a lake just a few steps away!

This is the second time our family has stayed here. The house is located in an excellent spot right in the middle of many state parks. We love the large pantry stocked with kitchen items as well as the large windows overseeing Lake Superior. The kitchen counter tops and microwave have been updated since our last stay. This house is perfect for 3 different families since there are basically 3 major sleeping areas with their own bedrooms and space. The washer and dryer were super helpful too and the house was loaded with laundry detergent and dryer sheets. The kids love all the games that come with the house and I love the large dining room table for eating together or for playing games at night. The wrap around deck is incredible and has new and comfortable deck furniture including rockers, feet rests and tables. This is a great spot with private space on the lake for great bonfires. The only down side is that we all thought the beds weren't very comfortable but the rest of the house makes up for it.

The home was beautiful and had a fantastic view of Lake Superior. Kitchen was nice with a large storage pantry next to it. One of the only complaints we have is the size of the beds. They were small and a bit uncomfortable. There was an awesome Weber Gas grill on the wrap around deck. The location was nice and centrally located for the activities we had planned.

I'd like to thank the Grannis family for sharing their beautiful home.
It would be nice if the broken microwave above the stove was replaced, instead of having one on the counter taking up space. It would be nice to have a empty pantry to use for dry goods, it was a slight inconvenience to be looking through bags for cereal, coffee, spices..misc. Theres no place to put dry goods. I would recommend bringing your own pots/pans unless you don't mind cooking with Teflon coming off the bottom. What Pointavu does offer is a amazing view inside and out. Plenty of really nice patio furniture. It was great having a fire by the lake. There's plenty of dishes, cups, bowls, dish (dishwasher) soap, laundry detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, games, movies (VHS and DVDs). It was nice having a gas grill. It is truly as pictured breathtaking views. If offered I would pay extra for Internet. I realize time should be spent outdoors and with the family but many of us work weekends and while on vacation. Would we stay there again, yes in a heartbeat!

My whole experience was amazing and I definitely want to return to this cabin! The beach was private, the cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed, the location was great too- just enough privacy, but close to restaurants, etc. The only thing that needs fixing is the plug in fan upstairs that was broken.

The home was great. Large and cozy with a great view. Plus real towels unlike the cheap motel ones. Clean and spacious. The only thing the home lacked was wifi. We had a couple people that needed to get some work done during the night time hours and were unable to do so. I understand this was a vacation but work never stops.

Pointavu was amazing, it has a beautifully set-up main room with windows and a porch overlooking the shore of Lake Superior. The fireplaces are a nice touch for nighttime and the large supply of board games, videos, towels, and dishes made it easy to stay in comfort without having to pack too much or go out to get things on the trip. It's nestled nicely among pine trees so even in the winter it gives the feel of being secluded in nature. It's full of nice little touches like carved wooden animals, hung pictures, and bird feeders that make it feel cozy and more like a home than a property for guests. To top it all off the service was amazing, every time we needed to speak or check in with staff we were met by friendly people willing to help.

Pointavu was a GREAT choice for our group! It was a beautiful home (well used, but still beautiful). CLEAN, and has a TON of amenities - even a closet FULL of games. We brought WAY more things than we needed because this home has EVERYTHING! The lake frontage is hard to beat, even when it was -30 degrees it was still unavoidable! Lutsen Mountains is also a close drive, and the Coho Cafe is within walking distance (and has great food)! I cannot wait to make our reservations for next year!
