The team at CVR has been great to work with on all of our rentals. We'll be back!
My wife Lisa and I had stayed at Morning Light in August 2016. We had a delightful stay then and decided to check it out in the winter time. President's Day weekend was awesome - we went cross country skiing twice, visited Grand Marais on Saturday and spent the day Sunday watching is snow. We picked up over 12"!

Service was fast and efficient. Appreciated someone shoveling the snow off deck even though it was only an inch or two.
Lovely home and outstanding location. Really enjoyed ability to walk into Tofte while still having the feeling of solitude. Home was great, can't beat the view and lakeshore access. Original 80's charm in great shape.

We loved it at Morning Light. Such a gorgeous view and plenty of room to spread out! Would love to see a little more lighting in the sitting area that looks over lake. And maybe directions for tv and dvd, we had to hook them up ourselves. But all in all absolutely loved it!

Everyone has been helpful, respectful and friendly. A huge plus!!
Morning Light is exactly what we like about a get away; being on water and in the woods. This is a retreat where we are content to spend most of our time on the property. We are minutes away from great hiking places and amazing rivers. The house is well stocked; we bring clothes and food and that is about it. We feel like we are "home" when we pull in the driveway.

Love the location. Close to the lake and very private. Everything was in working order except the screen door out to the deck is broken. The cabin is nicely equipped. If I were to be picky, I would like a chopping knife along with the other knives sharpened and better mattresses. We appreciated having a larger coffee maker (last year they only had a four cup maker). We loved our stay at Morning Light and plan to return.

We rented the Morning Light cabin for a family girl's trip. We absolutely loved Morning Light! The setting and proximity to Lake Superior can't be beat. The location feels completely private, and yet there are neighbors nearby & a Holiday gas station less than a mile, which is nice to know. Unfortunately, we had less than ideal weather on our visit, so we couldn't take full advantage of the deck and shoreline - but we still enjoyed coming "home" to Morning Light after a full day of hiking and exploring. We made a fire in the wood stove on our last night, which was lovely and made up for not being able to have a bonfire on the shore. The kitchen is more than adequately outfitted with kitchen items (pans, utensils, etc) - we made 3 meals there over the weekend, and found everything we needed (and more!). We all slept well and enjoyed waking up to the Lake out our windows :) Only sort of negative is that the decor is VERY dated - I know this is common with cabins, but felt like a few small changes would make a world of difference. Also, additional comfortable seating in the cabin would be nice. There are only 2 comfortable chairs - we ended up sitting on the hard chairs at the table most of the time so we could actually sit together. Regardless, we would definitely come back and would recommend to anyone!

You have been very easy to work with and we did stop into your office and book the cabin for next year....I added a day for this year and that was taken care of promptly...all in all a good experience.
We loved the cabin. It was perfect for our needs. I like to read at night and stay up late but we have a child with us that needs to get to bed, with the loft bedroom they had a space and so did I. We also liked that it was so private.....just you and the wildlife...our father had owned a cabin for many years and this brought back fond memories of that....we could bring in our own food and cook if we wanted to or go out....also it was easy to go up to Grand Marais which is a favorite place for us....all around just a great place.

Our stay at Morning Light Cabin ranks up in the top two "best vacactions" ever. The location was perfect, the quiet and solitude was exactly what we were looking for. The cabin and furnishings are older but still functional and had no complaints.

Have always had good experiences working with your team.
This place is a rare find! It is nearly impossible to find such a completely private, secluded rental on the North Shore. Not a soul in sight. This is an amazing place for a truly private retreat. The view is spectacular. The beds are super comfy. Everything you need is here including internet connection and a large TV (perfect for rainy days.) The location is great -- very easy to get to the many state parks in the area plus the Holiday station store is very nearby so you can pick up pretty much anything you may have forgotten with ease. It's far enough off of highway 61 that you don't hear traffic noise, but close enough that it's easy to access.

One of the windows has a broken crank handle so it was a tiny bit difficult getting it closed, but that was literally the only flaw the house had that we found. Beautiful location on the lake and we loved listening to the water hit the rocks! We had a deer sleeping under one of the trees about 20 feet from the house so that was cool to see! The front steps and driveway were all glare ice but that was no big deal because there was salt in the entry way and sand for the driveway. So that was good. Easy acces off the main road but still very private so that's also nice.

This is a lovely cabin in an excellent location. We loved the fact that, while close to many of our favorite hikes and restaurants, we felt as though we were in the middle of nowhere (in a good way). Although we stayed during a relatively quiet time of year, traffic noise from Hwy. 61 was almost non-existent. The cabin is laid out to make the best possible use of the space and location, including three walls of windows looking out to Lake Superior. Our only criticism concerned the beds: they were very, very soft, and we both ended up with backaches. The main bedroom would accommodate a larger bed, as well.

The place was amazing. We arrived in the dark but the porch light was on. The first thing you heard was the waves crashing up on the shore even though it was pitch black. The house is wonderful and exactly how it is described online. The upstairs is even bigger than what the picture makes it look like. I was going to have to sleep on the pullout in the loft area but another couple cancelled, however, it would have been plenty of room for me and not feel cramped at all. Lots of hot water, liked that you could adjust thermostat per room even though it was not needed. Kitchen was welled supplied and all the appliances that we used were great. Location is great. Right off of Hwy 61 right before you hit the Holiday Station, AmericInn and Blue Fin Bay in Tofte. But you don't hear any traffic noise because of the Big Lake. Love the location because it is easy to access the hwy and is so close to so many great hiking trails and lakes. IMO the absolute best thing about this place is the Big Lake. Love Lake Superior and how it is constantly changing and different. It is secluded enough with other houses on each side but not super near by. The "beach" that is super easy to access is all large rocks. We had a fire out there, cooked hot dogs and steaks and potatoes. Search for drift wood and cool rocks, built rock Cairns, could have stayed out there all day. Enjoyed the DirectTv because of the World Series.

We were very excited to spend some time in a cabin, away from other people and close lakefront access. Just driving into the lot had us locked into the up north experience. The cabin was perfect in every way. Well stocked, very clean, comfortable and the windows looking out to the lake stopped us in our tracks. Location was perfect for what we hoped to do. We drove up to Grand Marais and had a lovely lunch at Harbor House Grille, hiked Temperance River and just sat outside basking in the beauty and sound of Lake Superior. It was very hard to lock up and drive away. We are grateful for the owners sharing this idyllic location.

We loved the nice private setting right on the water. We were able to leave our patio door open and listen to the waves crashing on the rocks all night long! It was nice to just hang out on the rocks - I went swimming with my wet suit on in Lake Superior. Totally different view of the rocks and the water was crystal clear. Star gazing at night was awesome too!
