Are you visiting the North Shore this weekend? If you are, you can experience Grand Marais’ newest business for a preview event! Introducing Lady Superior Bottle Shop, a non-alcoholic (NA) bottle shop soon to be located in the former Gunflint Mercantile store.

Lady Superior Bottle Shop is the brainchild of Abby Tofte, owner of The Big Lake, an artsy gift shop located in the same building. When the Gunflint Mercantile closed earlier this year, Abby was able to purchase the other half of the building. It will soon be home to her non-alcoholic bottle shop. The shop has only grown in popularity since she started curating a small NA collection in a corner of The Big Lake last year.

With the larger store available, Abby can expand her NA offerings to include beer, wine, cocktails, and CBD and THC beverages. The space will be available to taste-test various drinks and learn more about the rising NA movement in Minnesota. Even though interest is growing, Abby’s store remains the first and only dedicated NA bottle shop on the North Shore.

Although the shop is not scheduled to be open until Memorial Day Weekend, lucky visitors to the North Shore this weekend will have the opportunity to get a preview of the store and try out some CBD and THC flights. Plus, you will get to see the new space as it comes together. This event was created primarily to welcome North Shore locals into the space, but we know we have some die-hard fans of The Big Lake and Abby’s other ventures who would be very interested in this event.

So, if you’re around, swing by 12 1st Ave West in Grand Marais on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 5 pm until 8 pm. If you do not see this until after 4/20, don’t worry! We will be sure to bring you more information on the Lady Superior Bottle Shop this summer once the store has fully opened. In the meantime, be sure to visit the Lady Superior Bottle Shop section on The Big Lake’s website where you can find some swag and information about the NA movement.
