Small in size but big on character, Little Marais is one of the North Shore’s hidden gems. Not exactly a town, LIttle Marais is an unincorporated community nestled between Silver Bay, Finland, and Schroeder. Visitors will find beautiful shoreline views, local art, and access to hiking trails that are often far less crowded than those near larger communities. It’s an excellent stop for anyone looking to experience authentic Northwoods hospitality.

Hovland also serves as an excellent starting point for exploring the northeastern corner of Minnesota, including Grand Portage.
