No matter the season, there are beautiful views to behold at Lutsen Mountains. No place offers you better views than aboard the Lutsen Mountains Summit Gondola. Take the scenic ride to the peak of Moose Mountain over 1,000 feet above Lake Superior. From the summit, you can enjoy sweeping views of the boreal forest and Lake Superior.

Open all year, the Lutsen Mountains Summit Gondola provides a different experience each season. The winter sees the gondola receiving the most use. Skiiers and snowboarders use the gondola to access the runs on Moose Mountains. While use of the gondola is included with a general ski pass or ticket, non-skiers can purchase a ticket to ride the gondola separately from the ski hill. Our favorite time to soar over the Poplar River, which flows through Lutsen Mountains, is the fall. During peak Fall Colors season, the hills around the gondola are ablaze with yellows, oranges, and reds as the leaves change. In the summertime, visitors love taking the gondola up to Moose Mountain and exploring miles of hiking and biking trails that weave along the mountainside. In every season, the Lake Superior views are just incredible from the gondola.

Bundle with the Alpine Slide

During the summer months, you can purchase an Alpine Slide/Gondola All-Day Adventure Pass. This pass let’s adventure seekers ride the Lutsen Mountains Alpine Slide and then take a trip to Moose Mountain aboard the Lutsen Mountains Summit Gondola.

While Lutsen Mountains is most well-known as a wintertime destination, these two activities have also made it a popular summertime destination. You could easily spend a whole day at Lutsen Mountains in the summertime. Ride the slide, then zip up to the Summit Chalet for lunch. Cap off the day with a few more rounds on the Alpine Slide.
