About Grand Marais Retreat

Grand Marais Retreat is a bright and airy home with three bedrooms located only a block from beautiful downtown Grand Marais, Minnesota, and the Grand Marais Harbor. The whole house has been recently updated and features hardwood and tile floors throughout and has been tastefully decorated.

With many large windows, the entire house is filled with natural light making it feel large and spacious despite its modest appearance from the outside. You walk into a bright living space featuring a living room and a dining room. The three bedrooms, a well-stocked kitchen with newer appliances and quality cookware, and a bathroom are accessible from a central hallway. The main bedroom is located at the back of the house. 

Tucked away, mostly out of sight, you are right near downtown Grand Marais yet have plenty of peace and privacy for a relaxing getaway.

If you are traveling with a large group or arriving for a family gathering, the properties Grand Marais House of Light and Grand Marais Retreat are located about two short blocks from each other. Each family or small group can have their own space while still being near one another.

Hop across the street and you will find yourself downtown with many locally owned and operated gift shops, specialty shops, and restaurants easy walking distance away. Head down to the harbor and skip rocks into the cool waters of Lake Superior. The house is easy walking distance to the North House Folk School and Grand Marais Art Colony. You can also get in your car and a short drive in any direction will take you to one of the area's state parks and recreation areas. Head down the shore to Cascade State Park and enjoy an easy hike to a beautiful waterfall, or head up the shore to Judge C.R. Magney State Park where a more challenging hike will bring you to a mysterious waterfall known as the Devil's Kettle. There are miles of hiking and biking trails nearby, and snowmobile trails can be accessed via routes in town right from the home. Whether you've come for an outdoor adventure or a relaxing vacation in one of Lake Superior's most picturesque towns, Grand Marais Retreat is the ideal location for your trip to Lake Superior's North Shore.
